Detailed analysis

Stock Sync is a solid tool if your suppliers provide inventory files via a URL you can poll or an FTP server you can connect to. For those workflows, it works well β€” you point it at the URL or FTP path, set a polling interval, and it regularly checks for updated files.

The problem is that most small suppliers don't host their CSV files on a URL or FTP server. They email them. Stock Sync cannot read your email inbox β€” it has no IMAP integration. So if your supplier sends a daily inventory CSV as an email attachment, you need to manually download that file and put it somewhere Stock Sync can access it. That manual step is exactly what Suppli eliminates.

The polling interval gap is also significant. On Stock Sync's basic plan, polling happens every 4–24 hours. On their top plan, every 15 minutes. Suppli polls every 60 seconds on every plan. If a supplier sends an inventory update at 9:00 AM and an order comes in at 9:05 AM, Stock Sync on its cheaper plans might not catch that update until the afternoon. Suppli would have caught it by 9:01 AM.

Stock Sync is primarily a Shopify tool. It doesn't natively push inventory to eBay, Walmart, Amazon, and Etsy in the same sync run the way Suppli does. Suppli is multi-channel from the start β€” one incoming feed updates all connected channels simultaneously.

Who Stock Sync is best for
  • Sellers whose suppliers host inventory files at a URL or FTP
  • Shopify-only sellers who don't need multi-channel
  • Businesses where a 15-minute sync interval is acceptable
Who Suppli is best for
  • Sellers whose suppliers send CSV inventory files by email
  • Multi-channel sellers (Shopify + eBay + Walmart + Amazon + Etsy)
  • Anyone who wants sub-60-second sync on a $1/month budget
  • Dropshippers who need multi-supplier quantity stacking

Your supplier emails you a CSV. Suppli reads it automatically. Done.
